LED TERMS

 CRI (Color Rendering Index): A quantitative value that depicts the LED  fixture’s ability to reproduce colors accurately compared to a natural  light source (i.e. the Sun). With higher CRI colors are rendered more  accurate, richer, and deeper.

Correlated Color Temperature (CCT):  A quantifiable measure of both the hue in white light and where it  falls on the color spectrum. If a white light fixture is more yellow in  hue, it is considered “warm white.” If the hue is bluer, the light is  considered “cool white.” Correlated Color Temperature is expressed using  Kelvin (K) as the unit of measure for white light.

Class 2: The  National Electric Code (NEC) defines a Class 2 circuit as that portion  of the wiring system between the load side of a Class 2 power supply  (LED driver) and the connected equipment (LED Luminaire). A Class 2  compliant circuit is considered safe from fire initiation, and provides  protection from electrical shock.

IP Rating: Abbreviation for  Ingress Protection Rating which classifies and rates the degree of  protection provided against particle intrusion such as dust and water.
